note2self: the feeling of fulfilment..

Posted: March 29, 2008 in All and Sundry, Musings, Notes on the Side kind of a burden. once you have finished something you shed your blood, sweat, tears, and sleepness nights on, you realize that there’s no exact “period,” or a definite closure in having finished it anyway. because because because, you will always think that what you have done isn’t good enough yet.

i guess it is the artist in us that drives us to strive for perfection, for completeness, hence the difficulty to let go and be contented with what you have accomplished so far. in art, the process of revision is an important element. but in the “real” world of deadlines and product manufacturing, there’s no room for waiting. revisions are decided on the job, right in an instant, no chance to ferment, so that you can deliver on the dot.

this my dear claire, you have to master as you muster enough strength, conviction and confidence to get back to work the second time around without hesitations. that is, if you can stomach looking at the finished product and seeing more imperfections than satisfying results. *sigh indeed*
