What is Cartography?

so what is it then? why the need to map? why the need for imitation? why the need to understand really?

i cling to the ambivalence of desire. it is as powerful as traversing the margins and the center, bending here and there, twisting a foot, even curling a tongue until it reaches the roof your mouth to say a name, or stretching your neck to scream silently. and if if we have to create borders, then we have to, we should. if only to preserve ourselves from this ambivalence, roughly marking spaces as we go along, marking time even. because we have to understand still, we have to reduce everything into tiny understandable units, that we think we can buy with a smile or a hug. there!
