656395296l.jpgmy friend rona (from silliman in dumaguete) is definitely following her dreams. after setting up a business selling hand-made jewelry made of wooden beads and other materials under the brand name carunoso, she decided to study sewing with hopes of finally being able to make clothes she designed herself. last year, when i met up with her, she told me that she was going to put up a shop for altered vintage wear, which can be online so that shoppers can order for certain designs through the internet. that was such a good idea that i even volunteered to help design her site.

finally, she’s currently finalizing her plans for a shop full of clothes she had designed and sewn all by herself. those days of sifting through piles of ukay-ukay, scouring the streets for thrift shops, and dreaming of becoming future designers are a thing of the past. i’m happy that i was part of those days too. now, being able to witness rona unraveling her potentials as a designer makes me extremely proud.

go ron!

the picture posted with this entry shows rona in the red indian-inspired dress surrounded by her friends who’re wearing her creations. i love the dress the manequin’s wearing and told her i wanted to buy it. unfortunately, somebody has reserved it before me. tsk tsk.
