on growing up

Posted: February 16, 2007 in Musings

recently, somebody told me that i should grow up and give myself time to think about what i really want. how can one reach that point when the path becomes clearer? often we see what is out there at the end of the road but never really manage to discover how to get there because things aren’t as vivid as they are.

i admire people who are there, who have arrived already, and can say with all bearing and pride that wisdom isn’t really a difficult goal to reach.

Alice meets the Chesire Cat where the road divides in two. The following dialogue takes place:

“Cheshire Puss,’ she began, rather timidly, as she did not at all know whether
it would like the name: however, it only grinned a little wider.

“Come, it’s pleased so far,’ thought Alice, and she went on. “Would you tell me, please, which way I ought to go from here?’

“That depends a good deal on where you want to get to,” said the Cat.

    “I don’t much care where – ,” said Alice.

“Then it doesn’t matter which way you go, ,” said the Cat.

” – so long as I get SOMEWHERE, ,” Alice added as an explanation.

“Oh, you’re sure to do that, ,” said the Cat, “if you only walk long enough.”

and if you kept walking, you will not only get SOMEWHERE, but:

    ANYWHERE but HERE.

you can do it. start by taking the first step.
